Safety Net

by Community Change | September 25, 2017 1:30 am

Republican leaders in Congress are taking aim at the basic structure of the social safety net in the United States. Programs such as Medicaid, SNAP (food stamps), and the Affordable Care Act are constantly on the legislative chopping block and tens of millions of Americans, namely seniors, people with disabilities, and people, children, and women of color already struggling to make ends meet and get access to quality health care, risk losing their last measure of security.

With the Safety Net campaign, Community Change has launched an extensive effort to organize, mobilize, and amplify the voices of impacted people and drive broad participation by millions of Americans to stand for the most vulnerable.
