(WASHINGTON)—Single parents, adults caring for sick children or parents, we all know someone who can be called a caregiver. Community Change today launched the “Give A Care” campaign to thank all caregivers for their selfless contributions and why they should be recognized.

The campaign aims to open a dialogue on the importance of caregiving and what it means to be a caregiver in today’s society.

“This important campaign gives us an opportunity to give credit to those who so rarely receive it but certainly deserve it,” said Deepak Bhargava, Executive Director, Center for Community Change. “We are excited about starting the dialogue on the need to help those that dedicate their lives to helping their loved ones.”

The campaign aims to push lawmakers to pass laws that would benefit caregivers, including the Caregiver Credit Act, which would allow caregivers who leave the workforce to care for their children or sick parents and partners to earn Social Security credits during that time.

The website and a video that shows caregivers and their loved ones can be found at: www.wegiveacare.org
