Munoz Among Obama’s Top Aides
(WASHINGTON)—Community Change today praised President Obama’s appointment of Cecilia Munoz as the Director of the Domestic Policy Council (DPC), a position that makes her one of the President’s top aides.
Munoz currently serves as the President’s Director of Intergovernmental Affairs. She also is the former chair of the Board of the Center for Community Change, serving in that position in 2008.
“Cecilia Munoz will bring years of experience and apply her remarkable skills as relationship builder and a policy expert to her new position at the DPC, gained from working on immigration, education and health care issues during her stellar career,” said Mary Lassen, managing director of the Center for Community Change. “Her expertise on these issues will provide the President with an important voice as he works on our nation’s domestic policy at a time when many Americans are suffering under the effects of the continuing economic crisis. Melody Barnes leaves big shoes to fill and the President couldn’t have made a stronger choice in appointing Cecilia Munoz to this important position.”
