What We Do

We’re organizing toward a future where all of us, no matter what we look like or where we come from, have the economic foundation and a guaranteed income to live full, dignified lives.

Moving from policy tests to power-building, we are multiplying the reach of early experiments and investments in guaranteed income to shift the country and the narrative on how our government should invest in its people.

Care work is a bedrock of our economy and essential for all of our families. We envision a new system that allows families, providers, and communities to access the care they need — as well as to be fairly compensated for the care they provide.

Child care providers and families have redefined what it means to live in a country that cares. Community Change is widening and making permanent their advances while exploring a new frontier of organizing for health equity.

We organize in solidarity with immigrant communities to lay the groundwork for long-term political shifts toward a democracy that welcomes everyone.

Unless we can find a path toward an immigrant-inclusive multiracial democracy, the number of Americans excluded from basic social and economic protections will continue to increase, and conflicts over rights and resources will tear us apart.

We are an organization of organizers. We bridge the worlds of grassroots organizing and progressive politics to change the systems that impact our communities.

We expand the electorate and engage hard-to-reach and hard-to-find Black, Latino, Native, AAPI, immigrant, women, and young voters in year-round democratic participation.

We fight for policies and practices that can relieve poverty right now – even as we work to change the interlocking structures and systems that perpetuate injustice.

Our power has always been in our ability to share our experiences, tell our stories, and shift the conversation.

We work with state ecosystems of grassroots organizations and local leaders who come from low-income communities and communities of color.

We incubate new ideas and creative ways to solve the moment's most pressing issues.
