You Won't Believe What These Girls Did to Get John Boehner's Attention

This week, kids from all over the country traveled to DC to tell leaders in Washington why they urgently need comprehensive immigration reform now. On Wednesday, Carmen Lima, age 13 of California, and Jenni Martinez, age 16 of Washington state, intercepted Speaker Boehner during his breakfast at Pete’s Diner to tell him why their families can no longer wait for reform.

Watch as the two young girls fearlessly approach the most powerful Republican in the country:

 

Speaker Boehner listens to their stories and agrees with them that “it’s time to get this done.”

 

However, less than three hours after making this commitment to these young girls, Speaker Boehner tells America a different story:

 

Carmen says she feels “betrayed” by the Speaker of the House:

 

But the girls are not ready to accept defeat. This is just the tip of the iceberg. Watch as they transform their experience into fuel to continue their fight:
