Community Change Mourns the Death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Champion of Women’s Rights and Justice for All
Dorian Warren, president of Community Change and Lorella Praeli, president of Community Change Action issued the following statement:
“Our hearts are broken tonight, and our thoughts are with everyone who is mourning the loss of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. A pioneer and champion of women’s rights, she took the fight for justice to new heights after facing gender discrimination herself. From equal pay to reproductive rights, her work allowed women to be the decision makers in their own lives. The Glorious R.B.G, dedicated her life to fighting for women, and for communities like ours.
Justice Ginsburg transformed the courts and the nation. Her work changed the face of the workforce and gave hope to young women that their career aspirations were possible. She fought to protect the rights of the most vulnerable communities, offering strong dissents when she disagreed with the court’s rulings. She fiercely battled everything put in her way.
We honor her life and her legacy with our fight for race and gender justice at every level, and at every institution. Her passing is a reminder that the stakes of this election could not be higher. Our collective futures are on the line and we each must do our part to turn out the vote. We’ll continue our work to honor her last wish by winning the election, electing more women and fighting until we are all free.”
